Kiarra M. Taylor is a Pittsburgh native and current resident. She is a mother to a handsome son as well as a beautiful daughter. A lifelong bookworm, Kiarra began writing in the fifth grade and hasn’t stopped since. With so many genres out there she doesn’t limit herself to writing in just one and aims to write across genres. Her interests in books vary as does as her interest in music; she literally likes it all. Some of Kiarra’s favorite authors are; J.K. Drakkar ~ Beyond the Lie *Teaser*

Well, I am chugging along writing Drakkar’s story.

His will be the first time I take a chance on the YA/NA genres. My teenage paranormal characters are, shall we say, moody. Most of the time they sit brooding and refusing to talk. Others, they won’t shut up. Kind of like real teens.

Many I know quite personally, *ahem* like my own son the “Demon”.

Welcome to a Vampire’s Camelot.

Hear the fanfare for a long lost Prince, one that never should have existed at all.

The sirens on the ambulance stopped as it pulled up behind the carriage. Two men climbed out of the cab and headed toward them. Jared held Giovanna’s limp form close. He kissed the top of her head, letting his tears fall on her blood streaked cheek.
One of the paramedics touched his shoulder. “Jared, I’m sorry man, but I have to do my job here. Don’t worry. I’ll take real good care of G for you. I won’t let anything happen to her.”
Jared lifted his eyes from Giovanna’s serene face, ready to shove the man away until he realized it was his brother. “You do, Tony, and it will be the last thing you ever do.” 
“Listen bro, let me and Carlos take care of her. I called Dad, and I’m sure he already notified everyone. We can’t leave her out in the open like this. You can trust me. I’ll make sure she gets where she has to go safely.” 
Jared watched, heartbroken as Tony lifted her from the carriage onto the waiting stretcher. True to his word, his brother was gentle and careful with her. When the ambulance pulled away, and he was left alone, he fell to his knees clutching her shawl in agony.
The tension in Jared’s body slowly faded with the memory. He couldn’t believe after all of this time it still affected him so much. Thank the gods above for the people who had shown him life was still worth living.
 The sun set well over an hour ago, but Jared hadn’t bothered turning on the fluorescent lights. The full moon gleamed off the polished hardwood through the floor length windows, illuminating the room. 
A shadow passed across the floor in front of him. Anyone else would assume it was an owl flying past the window or a cloud obscuring the moon. Except it moved too quickly. The untrained eye would have missed it, but not Jared. 

Jared listened. The weight of the silence in the room was deafening. He focused on the darkened corners of the room. There was a presence here, and it was definitely vampire. He could feel its aura. He possessed a sixth sense for them.
The creak of leather allowed him to pinpoint the location of his intruder. Jared slowly wrapped his fingers around the wooden staff resting on the floor before him and waited. 
Come to Papa, asshole.
The air in the room stirred. Jared smirked as a leather duster slid into view on the floor in front of him. His attacker was trying to throw him off. Did they honestly think he would fall for such a lame trick…again? He took nothing for what it seemed when dealing with vampires. No, Jared relied on his honed senses to keep his head on his shoulders when faced with a fight.
 A breeze brushed over his arms. He brought his weapon up on his left side, blocking his attacker’s strike. The wooden staffs cracked together. Jared swung around keeping their weapons locked together until he fell into a ready stance. 
The vampire backed up a step and twirled the staff at his side. He circled around slowly, just out of striking distance. Jared kept a wary eye trained on the male; the pointed end of his staff aimed at his assailant’s chest. 
Before he could blink, the vamp advanced and drove him back. Jared met each advancing blow with a block. He sensed the wall at his back and launched to the side, rolling away before he was cornered. He made a full sweep of the floor with his staff, catching his opponent’s foot and knocking him onto the ground. Taking advantage of the momentary lapse, Jared grabbed the other man’s weapon, breaking his hold and pinning him to the floor.
“Yield.” Jared towered over the vampire and leaned into the staff on his attacker’s neck. 
His assailant let out a raspy laugh. He grabbed Jared’s leg and pulled it out from under him. He landed on his ass. The staff clattered to the ground. The vamp spun away from him but not before giving Jared a knock on the back of the head with his staff. Snarling, Jared retrieved his weapon and prepared for the next attack.
“I’m too easy on you, Copil.” The vampire chuckled. “If you were one of the King’s men you’d be dust by now. You fight like an infant.”
God he hated the nickname – Copil. Zephyr had given it to him when he was a child, and unfortunately, it had stuck. It was funny. One Romanian word made him feel like the unsure gangly kid he had once been. One who couldn’t land any of his strikes correctly. He guessed his struggle to learn how to fight was why the vamp had decided to train him personally. He couldn’t think of any other reason.
“Go to hell, Z.”

Spring has sprung!

  

It’s been a long haul here in Hudson Valley, NY but Fall has finally left the building. 

Fall?

Yes you read that right. I said Fall.

You see, we never really had winter here this year. Our snow accumulation was next to nothing compared to last years where we ended up completely buried in multiple feet of snow. But I’m not complaining. No snow meant no shoveling which then meant no aches and pains later on. 

I’m just glad now I can look forward to finally finishing my third book, attending a few book signings and meeting all you wonderful readers out there.

So, Happy Spring my Peeps!

A feral growl from the clearing ahead stopped him in his tracks.

“Son of a bitch, is this woman a danger magnet?”

Lance heard the rapid drum of her heartbeat. She wasn’t far ahead, but she was scared to death. He readied his bow, arrow nocked, and crept closer. A large black wolf had her cornered. He paced not far from her toying with his prey. Its amber eyes glowed in the darkness. Lips curled back in a snarl. Lance saw her terrified gaze searching the brush around her, looking for him perhaps? He was the only one on her side at the moment. He could leave her for dead, revenge for the knife wound, but he wasn’t about to do that. It wasn’t in him to leave a woman in danger, even danger she created for herself. He’d rather have her undying gratitude. If it got him laid, even better.

Maybe I am a dog. He chuckled to himself.

The wolf paced closer. She let out a strangled cry. Lance stood. Her gaze swept to him, relief bloomed in her eyes. He raised the bow at the same time the wolf lunged for her throat. His bowstring hummed as he let the arrow fly and hit its mark. The wolf dropped to the forest floor inches from her. The woman crumpled to the ground in tears.
Lance was careful as he approached her this time. He didn’t want a repeat performance of what happened earlier. Crouching next to her, he brushed the tangled ginger curls from her face. She lifted tear filled emerald eyes to him.

“Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you, did he?”

She shook her head and gazed at the carcass by her feet. “Nay, I am unharmed, thanks to you.” Her eyes lifted once more to meet his. “How did you know I was in danger?”

“Cher, danger seems to follow you.” He laughed and held out a hand to her. “Let’s get you back to where you came from. Where exactly is that?”

“I’ll not say another word without thy name.” She took his hand allowing him to pull her to her feet.
Lance bowed low over her hand, minding what Semiramis warned him earlier. “Christian Du Lac at your service.”

Her jaw fell. “Nay, you cannot be.”

“I can assure you, I am. I have been away on apprenticeship only to return home tonight. My father is awaiting my arrival as we speak.” His hand still held hers, and he swore a spark traveled between them. “Would you tell me yours? You know, so I can inform dear old dad who I rescued.”

“I am Lady Elizabeth Payne, niece to his Majesty King Arthur.”

Lance frowned. King Arthur’s niece? What the hell was she doing out here unescorted? “Why is there no guard with you? You shouldn’t be riding all over the woods with no one protecting you, especially at this hour.”

“You are just like the rest of them.” She stalked away. “I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself.”

“Yeah, you’re an ace at it. Thieves and a blood-thirsty wolf meant you no harm. I get it. You were going to bat your pretty green eyes at them and make them fall in love with you. Sure, then they wouldn’t kill you.” He scoffed.

~ About the author ~

Sandra Bischoff lives in the historic town of Cornwall, NY with her extremely patient husband and teenage son, she affectionately calls the Demon. She is a Pharmacist by profession but found her true calling in a simple twist of fate. A friend approached her to write in a forum on a popular networking website. Over the next five years her passion had found its niche. She went on to compose a few poems and short stories which she would post on her homepage at the same networking site.
Her debut novel, Beyond the Sun was published April 2013 by Bayou Brew Publishing. She recently was named to Amazon’s best seller list in the Fantasy/Epic category. Sandra’s second book in this series entitled Beyond Time was released earlier this spring in time for the Romantic Times Convention in New Orleans where she was a featured author at the Book Fair.
She has since left Bayou Brew Publishing to embark on the next chapter of her writing career, Independent Publishing. As of this time she has re-released both books in e-book and paperback formats. They can be found on Amazon.com. Sandra is currently working on her third book in her Dark Order of the Dragon Series. Her hope is to have it ready for publication in early 2015.

They also investigated ghost hauntings and Bigfoot sightings in addition to UFO’s. Growing up in this type of environment and having the passion for writing is what drove Rebekkah at an early age to write stories dealing with the paranormal.
